Because every girl deserves a desk.
In the southeastern regions of Turkey, thousands of girls between the ages of –10 and 17– remain excluded from formal education due to cultural expectations, poverty, child marriage, and systemic gender inequality.
“Far From the Classroom” is a digital awareness campaign that aims to spotlight this often-ignored issue. It tells the stories of girls who are physically and socially distanced from schools — not by choice, but by circumstance.
We believe that education is not a privilege — it’s a fundamental right. No girl should have to fight for her seat in a classroom.
By sharing stories, data, and resources, this campaign calls on individuals, institutions, and communities to take action, raise their voices, and stand with girls who are still waiting to learn.
